Song of the day: Mates of State -- "Goods"

...and speaking of the NoisePop Festival, one of the bands slated to play is Mates of State, one of my happy discoveries of the past few years. The married duo --he on drums, she on keyboards, with both handling vocals-- just released a new CDEP, All Day, on Polyvinyl Records. My friend Hill pointed out the EP's leadoff song, "Goods," to me last week, and I'm glad he did. It's one of the best ones they've released, and a great way to start the week. Happy Monday, indeed.
