Song of the day: Astral/"Barreling"

Sometimes you find the most wonderful things right under your nose. It took my girlfriend in New York to clue me in about Astral, a great band here in San Francisco. Astral's music is recommended if you like Joy Division, Methodrone-era Brian Jonestown Massacre, early music by The Verve, or shoegaze bands like The Meeting Places.

I checked tonight to see if Astral has any music in Rhapsody, and it turns out we've got their entire first album, Orchids. I've only given it a cursory listen, but it's pretty damn good. Click here to check out "Barreling," "Blinder" and a few other favorites from Orchids. Enjoy the music.
