Song of the day: Air Formation/"All is Fine"

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm hanging out at home today, cooking with my lady and listening to Rhapsody on my home stereo, and the song "All is Fine" by Air Formation just came on. Seemed like an appropriate sentiment for the day, and a great song to boot. Enjoy the music (and the turkey).

Song of the day: Airiel/"In Your Room"

My girlffriend is flying out from New York tomorrow, flying into town for good times and hot turkey served up in both cases by yours truly.

As I prepare for the big day this Thursday, I've been listening to a lot of music around the house -- mostly My Morning Jacket (who my friend Ted has been earnestly trying to turn me onto for a while now) but also a lot of the shoegaze music the kids are talking about.

This morning, the song "In Your Room" by Airiel really hit me hard. It's gorgeous, and swirling, and beautiful. I think you'll enjoy hearing it. At least I hope so. Enjoy!

Song of the day: Brideshead/"Shampoo Bubble"

It's beautiful here today in the Bay area, sunny and unseasonably warm. Given the warm weather, it seemed entirely appropriate to listen to some sunny twee pop -- and for that, I give you "Shampoo Bubble," a single from German pop group Brideshead. This song is taken from Sevensummers: International Pop, Volume 2, a compilation put out 5 years back by Kindercore Records; the album is chock full of fey songs from bands like Red Sleeping Beauty and Acid House Kings. Enjoy!
