Just added: The White Stripes/Get Behind Me Satan

Rhapsody is giving White Stripes fans a 4-day jump on hearing the band's new album, Get Behind Me Satan, which hits stores on Tuesday. I'm not a huge fan of the band, personally, but I did like the big single on their last album and really enjoyed Jack White's duet with Loretta Lynn on her most recent album. I've given the new album a quick listen this morning, and my favorite so far is the song "My Doorbell." Click here if you'd like to check the album out. Enjoy!

Song of the day: Beat Happening/"Dreamy"

I hung out last night at CakeShop, a new record store/coffee joint/bar in New York's East Village. I made a killing there this week on some crucial early 90s vinyl, and last night played God on the bar's well-appointed jukebox. One of the songs I played was Beat Happening's single "Dreamy," a shambling slice of indiepop pie. Enjoy!

Song of the day: Electrelane/"Bells"

I'm in NYC this week for work, and while I'm here will have the chance to see a couple of bands currently getting a lot of play on my stereo, including Say Hi To Your Mom (whose new record comes out next week and who are playing tonight) and Electrelane, who are playing Friday night.

Today's song of the day is from the latter group's new album, Axes, which came out less than a month ago and which is slowly but steadily growing on me. Click here to check out the song "Bells."
